Executive Committee
Required Members: The members of the Executive Committee shall be the FILC Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, the CIL Representative. The Executive Director shall be an ex-officio member without the right to vote.
Purpose: The Committee is designated to handle any business needing to be addressed between Council Meetings, emergencies, short-term executive decisions, and to act as the Personnel Committee to oversee the administrative operations of the SILC. At least once per year, the Committee will lead a full review of the bylaws of the SILC and other Board Policies.
Finance Committee
Purpose: The Committee is designated to develop recommendations for the organization’s annual budget for the full Council to approve. In addition to the annual budget review, there is a monthly Finance meeting held to review the monthly financial activities.
Public Policy and Advocacy
Purpose: The Committee shall be responsible for identifying, tracking and educating Council members, elected officials, and community partners on the priorities of the Council.
Youth Committee
Purpose: Represents the commitment to youth initiatives as outlined in the SPIL. The Committee will actively partner with the CILs Youth Coordinators, Youth Leadership Forum, Department of Education, and other state and committee partners.
State Plan for Independent Living
Purpose: Responsible for regular monitoring of the State Plan for Independent Living goals. This will include working with IL Network to collect data, track progress, and address issues. The Committee will report any recommendations for revisions and amendments to the Council. There are several workgroups that specifically work on goals within the SPIL.
