How to Join FILC

The following steps describe the process for applying for membership on the Florida Independent Living Council. Before you begin, we recommend reviewing the board seats available and gathering your professional information. If you need help at any point, contact FILC staff directly — do not contact the Governor’s office for application support.

Application Steps

  1. Notify FILC staff that you are interested in becoming a FILC member.
  2. Email your resume to Beth Meyer at beth@floridasilc.org. Beth will notify the Executive Committee of your interest.
  3. Download the Appointments QuestionnaireDownload Appointments Questionnaire (PDF). This document requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to open.
  4. Complete the questionnaire, then return to the online application to enter your demographic and personal information and finalize your application.
  5. Select the board seats you wish to apply for.
  6. Attach any supporting documents (optional).
  7. Submit your completed application through the Florida Governor’s Appointments portal at flgov.com.
  8. Email a copy of both parts of your completed application to Beth Meyer at Beth@floridasilc.org.
